July 18, 2024: Bluestone Bank, a local independent community bank with 13 locations across southeastern Massachusetts, recently donated gently used computers and equipment to the Bridgewater-Raynham and Mansfield Public School Districts.

The donation included a total of 14 laptops and 68 desktops, all of which were wiped clean of previously stored data and then pre-installed with Windows Professional for student use. The estimated value of this donated equipment is $24,000.

This project was overseen by Bluestone Bank’s IT department and project lead, Daniel Thomas II, VP, Information Technology Manager. Thomas and members of his team spent over 40 hours preparing, coordinating, and delivering the PCs to each school.

“Bluestone Bank is excited to provide this equipment to both Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School and Mansfield High School,” comments Thomas. “We hope that this donation will give students the tools and technology needed to further aid in their education.”

Both school districts expressed their gratitude to Bluestone Bank for contributing to and supporting the education of youth in the community.

“On behalf of Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District, I want to thank Bluestone Bank for their generous donation of 68 computers and seven laptops,” shares Michael Schantz, IT Manager, Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District. “Your contribution will allow our students to run the latest software and give them the best user experience. This technology will enhance their digital literacy, innovation, and creativity.”

“We are grateful to Bluestone Bank for this donation of seven laptops,” remarks Teresa Murphy, Superintendent of Schools, Mansfield Public Schools. “They will be used to supplement our technology offerings to students to support their education.”
