
May 21, 2024: Bluestone Bank is excited to announce new hire Danielle Walsh as EVP, Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer. With over 25 years of industry experience, Danielle began her banking career in 1996 as a float teller for Fleet Bank. Prior to joining Bluestone, she spent the last 15 years at Needham Bank, where she most recently held the position of EVP, Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer. In this role, Walsh led the Accounting and Investments departments, overseeing all aspects of the bank’s financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. She also worked at South Coastal Bank and as an auditor for Wolf & Company, P.C. in Boston.
On joining the Bluestone team, Walsh expresses, “I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to join a mutual bank that is firmly committed to its role as a local resource to its customers and the community. I look forward to working collaboratively with the Bluestone team to achieve the Bank's strategic goals.”
Walsh is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking and earned a Certificate of Leadership from the Wharton School, Aresty Institute for Executive Education. She holds a Master of Science degree in Accounting, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a minor in Finance, both from Salve Regina University.
A resident of Mansfield, MA, Walsh has volunteered as a coach with the Mansfield Youth Basketball Association since 2015.
In addition to this change, Bluestone is pleased to promote Benjamin Lord to the role of EVP, Chief Operating Officer. In 2017, Lord joined the Bank as VP, Chief Information Officer. Now, with over 10 years of experience in the banking industry and 20 years of experience in the technology and services industries, he will oversee Bluestone’s digital, technology, retail banking, and operational success. Lord is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking and the New England School of Financial Studies. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a minor in Computer Science from Providence College.
Lord shares, “I am excited to step into this new role as we continue to elevate the Bluestone digital and in-person banking experience for our customers.”
Lord also serves as Chair of the Massachusetts Bankers Association Emerging Leaders Steering Committee. He actively volunteers at Our Daily Bread in Mansfield, MA and Old Colony Habitat for Humanity.
